I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon. I work online only, with Oregon residents. In addition to 10 years of clinical experience, including clinical experience counseling with those who have been harmed by “gender affirming care” and their loved ones, I have experience building “extracurricular” relationships with the detrans community through advocacy and podcasting. It is important to me to develop a deep understanding of the complex mental and physical landscape faced by the rapidly growing population of detransitioners as they embark on paths of healing.
I understand how foundational trust is to the therapeutic relationship, and that for many detransitioners, past therapists played a role in decisions they have since come to regret. I appreciate the courage and openness it takes to even consider counseling after what some have been through. Building a safe, trusting, genuine relationship with my clients is of the utmost importance to me. Operating from a relational model, I am willing to hold space for your ambivalence about therapy, and your anger at those you feel betrayed by — even if that’s yourself, or me.
