I am a coach and consultant based in Washington State, with an educational background in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am not a licensed or practising counsellor, but instead offer coaching and consultation services from a peer-to-peer, person-centred, and philosophical perspective. I work with people seeking to recover from hardship, improve relationships, maximise well-being, and grow personally and spiritually—always with respect for each person’s individuality and the uniqueness of their perspective and life experiences. As with counselling, in this practice "coaching" involves exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and examining your behavioural patterns and communication habits within the context of an authentic and empathetic relationship. This relationship is voluntary and confidential, and as the client, you retain autonomous decision-making and responsibility for any unforeseen outcomes of your choices. Unlike clinical mental health counselling, this process does not involve mental health diagnosis and should not be seen as a substitute for treatment of mental illness. My services are not billable through health insurance. Typical sessions are one-on-one individual meetings, though I also work with couples or families. I prefer to work with adults but will consider working with children or teens on a case-by-case basis. In my experience, many issues involving children can be effectively addressed through parent coaching and are often better resolved within the family, rather than bringing the child in to meet directly with a professional. I am not limited by licence to a specific geographical area and work with clients both in person locally and remotely across the country and around the world.
