Information on this website

Genspect publishes information, commentary, research and educational resources relating to gender distress, healthcare, psychology, family life and public policy.

The material on this website is provided for general information and education. It is not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or other professional advice. You should seek advice from a suitably qualified professional before making decisions about your health, treatment or legal position.

Genspect does not provide emergency or crisis services. If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services in your country.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information is accurate when published. However, research, law and clinical guidance can change, and we cannot guarantee that every page will always be complete, current or free from error.

Opinions expressed by individual authors, interviewees, speakers or contributors are their own and do not necessarily represent Genspect’s position.

You may use this website for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website belongs to Genspect or is used with the permission of its owner. This includes text, reports, graphics, recordings, videos, logos and website design.

You may quote brief extracts, share links and download material made available for that purpose, provided that you acknowledge Genspect as the source and do not misrepresent or alter the material.

You must obtain our written permission before reproducing substantial parts of the website, republishing complete articles or reports, using our material commercially, or using Genspect’s name or logo in a way that suggests our endorsement.

Contributions and submissions

If you submit an article, story, photograph, recording or other material for possible publication, we will agree any publication rights with you separately.

Sending material to Genspect does not guarantee that we will publish it. We may edit, decline or remove submitted material at our discretion.

Please do not send confidential, identifying or sensitive personal information unless we have specifically asked you to do so through an appropriate and secure process.

Memberships and subscriptions

Where Genspect offers a paid membership or subscription, the price, billing period and benefits will be shown before payment.

Subscriptions may renew automatically where this is clearly stated at the time of purchase. You may cancel future renewal using the payment provider’s account or billing portal, or by contacting info@genspect.org. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.

Any right to cancel or receive a refund under applicable consumer law is unaffected by these terms. Additional terms shown when purchasing a particular membership or subscription will also apply.

Donations

Donations support Genspect’s work. Unless otherwise stated, donations are voluntary and non-refundable.

A donation is not payment for a service and does not give the donor control over Genspect’s activities, publications or decisions.

The organisation receiving a donation will be identified on the relevant donation or payment page. Some US donations may be received by Genspect USA Inc, a separate US nonprofit organisation.

If a donation was made by mistake or without the account holder’s permission, please contact info@genspect.org promptly.

Events and training

Prices, eligibility requirements, cancellation arrangements and any additional conditions for an event or training programme will be displayed when registration opens.

Genspect may change a speaker, programme, venue or schedule where reasonably necessary. If we cancel a paid event, we will offer a refund of the ticket price or another appropriate arrangement.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Genspect is not responsible for travel, accommodation or other personal expenses if an event is changed or cancelled.

Participants must behave respectfully. We may refuse admission or remove a person whose behaviour is threatening, abusive, seriously disruptive or unsafe.

Support groups and services

Participation in a Genspect or Beyond Trans support group may be subject to separate participation, confidentiality and safeguarding rules.

Support groups are not emergency services and do not replace individual medical care, psychotherapy or other professional treatment. Facilitators may provide support and general information but cannot assume responsibility for participants’ personal or clinical decisions.

Third-party websites

This website contains links to websites and services operated by other organisations. These links are provided for information or convenience and do not necessarily indicate endorsement.

Genspect does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices or security. You should read their own terms and privacy policies before using them or providing personal information.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

To the extent permitted by law, Genspect is not responsible for losses arising from:

• reliance on general information published on the website;
• decisions made without obtaining appropriate professional advice;
• the content or operation of a third-party website;
• temporary interruption or unavailability of the website; or
• events outside our reasonable control.

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, secure or free from errors or harmful software.

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Safeguarding concerns are handled in accordance with our Safeguarding Policy.
